Q1 - Please introduce yourself. How did you get to be involved in cryptocurrency and PhoenixDAO?

Craig: Hi all, thanks for having us. I'm Craig and I'm an ambassador for PhoenixDAO working very closely with both the core team and the community to support growth and marketing.
I first got involved with cryptocurrency back in 2018, but I was still very skeptical back then and watched from the sidelines with little investment. There were so many horror stories in the space and I was cautiously trying to make sense of it all and was learning every day. Having had a common interest in a previous project as the core team, I naturally spoke with them and created a relationship. I was excited to hear their plans and what they were looking to bring to the space through PHNX. I wanted to support them and be a part of something I was excited about! And here I am today...
Mayor: Hello People. I’m Monte Thomas. I got into crypto purely out of curiosity when I was still working as a freelance tech writer along with my day lecturing job back in 2014/15.
After taking a deep dive to learn about blockchain/crypto which saw me undergo an MSc. Digital Currency course, I got a role with a crypto project to cover articles, from where I moved on to work as a sales and marketing person (It’s worth mentioning that I now have a Diploma in Online Marketing/Sales).
I’m currently working with PhoenixDAO as the partnership director of the project. In this current role, I bring to bare a combination of my marketing, sales, and business development skills — while covering the legal responsibilities of the project.

Q2 - Can you tell us a little bit about PhoenixDAO?

Craig: Absolutely! PhoenixDAO is a project that is driven by the community. Community is the most important part of any project and our aim is to solve the centralised issues we often see in the crypto space. A key focus for the project is to achieve decentralisation via the community built DAO platform, designed to eliminate whale manipulation in making proposals and the subsequent voting process (one man, one vote) along with participation rewards.
With a suite of protocols readily available, Authentication, Identity, Payment and Tokenization this allows us to continue to develop in-house products. You can think of it as a linked ecosystem of governance (DAO), DeFi products (among the products which include but not limited to, a staking dApp that enables liquidity farming, events ticketing dApp, NFT Marketplace dApp and a dApp store, just like Google play store) all powered by the PHNX token!
Summarily it is an ecosystem that has protocols and products going side by side. Why we see it becoming very big is the fact that it is open to anyone from anywhere to get involved in building the project. Once the DAO is live, with good incentives/grant system embedded, be sure that we'll get the best developers coming to build in the PhoenixDAO space.

Q3 - You say a custom-built governance platform to enable a decentralized democracy and also an ecosystem growth platform. Can you explain this a little more?

The Ecosystem is powered by the $PHNX token through a suite of products, for example the events marketplace and the use cases it offers combined with partner utility and use cases. The design of our platform makes it competitive when compared to other DAO’s.
It's designed to take out bad actors. There can’t be whale manipulation, meaning only the best projects loved by the community will be voted and approved for funding. We’re excited for what’s coming.

Q4 - Based on the information on your website, PhoenixDAO has a feature that allows the user to create digital ID.

Q5 - What are the uses of digital ID? What data is required?

Mayor: Here's my/our thought on that:
Decentralized identity is a commonly discussed trope in the blockchain space that hasn’t had much to show. However, its potential is one worth paying attention to.
In a world full of identity theft, of which 14.4 million people fell victim in 2018, threats continually persist. However, blockchain technology’s decentralization provides a fighting chance, especially in a world where personal information is a currency.
The point of decentralized identity is to put personal data back in control of the people. It eliminates the process of companies taking and selling information, profiting at the expense of the user. This is done via tokenization. From the username to an email, each part of an online identity is represented via a token. That’s the problem PhoenixDAO’s Identity and authentication protocol aims to solve.
That token provides a user the power to control who and what can see such information. For example, someone going to the doctor could choose how much information is passed over, such as their medical history, name, and address. The user can then ensure permission is only granted to that doctor. The group can’t sell that information to another company.
Not only this, but it remains impossible for a bad actor to pose as that user. This is thanks to public and private keys, an idea carried over from traditional cryptocurrency wallets. Basically, a user creates corresponding public and private keys that represent their identity on a blockchain. The public key is then stored in something called a Decentralized Identifier (DID) - accessible via a decentralized network.

Q6 - How do you ensure the security of digital IDs?

On our part, to ensure security and safety of the ID’s being created is the reason why we decided to be built on the Ethereum Blockchain network, which so far is the most secure and decentralised network even though it has been faced with speed of transaction issues lately.
